I went to the doctor last week about my periods and everything and they did a pregnancy test and then told me it was negative but wanted to wait 2 more weeks and do another one and then if it was negative they would prescribe me for birth control. i would be around 2 months. why do they need to do another test i thought it was weird???

They just want to be sure before putting you on birth control. Are you trying to get pregnant and the birthcontrol would be to regulate first? Are you late? Did they do a pee test or did they draw blood?

im not trying to get pregnant just thought that i was because of the messed up periods i was having and all they did was a pee test. but i would be around 2 months so i would think a pee test would be accurate then right? i am late about a week or so.

Some women take a long time to get a positive pee test, some never get a positive pee test. HCG, the pregnancy hormone builds in your blood first and then at some point, which is different for everyone, it then spills over in to the urine. A quant_tative hcg blood test is the most accurate. This test will tell you the exact level of hcg in you system, anything 25 or greater is considered positive for pregnancy. Good luck!!!

well i dont think that they think im pregnant. They never even offered anything like that so what should i do? should i call them and ask for one or what? im confused and now it just makes me think the symptoms were in my head and everything.

If you get a quant_tative hcg then at least you will know for sure. You can get the results in a couple days, then you can stop worrying. It might be worth it for the peace of mind. I would probably do it if it were me.

Just get the blood test and get this over with. Why live in limbo when you could get your answer in a couple of days!

Good luck honey! :o} I need to take a nap, I can't hardly keep my eyes open. I will check back later.

shaylyn... you should ask them to check for ovarian cysts - these can cause the symptoms you are describing. The symptoms can also be caused by the buildup of progesterone because your period is *trying* to come... you may need provera to finally bring it on and then you will feel a LOT better. I've been there. I don't think you are two months pregnant. However, it is always better to be safe than sorry, and they should also do the blood test to rule that out for sure.
