Grandpa viv says its not a good indicator and I agree. I checked it everyday and my cervix did not feel softer but it did seem open and low when it was supposed to be closed.. Also Ive got alot of discharge. Im now 7 weeks. My symptoms were lower back pain, discharge and my b___sts were NOt as tender as they normally should have been at the time. I missed my period.. My cervix seemed to yo yo alot. sorry i cant help you more.

I have read on (various) other websites that EVERY pregnant woman is different in terms of when the cervix does its 'thing' and softens and closes for 'business'. For some, it can happen as early as a few weeks after conception - for others, it might not happen until they are almost in their 2nd trimester. I remember Grandpa Viv speaking of a pregnant woman who's cervix 'bobbed up and down' and stayed open, and semi-open until she was almost 8 weeks along. So.....with that said - it can kind of give SOME women hope - if they suspect they are 4 weeks or so pg, and their cervix is still low and open or whatever. Hope this helps....****Baby Dust****
