Unovulatory Cycle

I read a lot about late periods and negative HPT's on this board. Right now I'm the one who is 3 days late and has negative HPT and hopping it will turn to positive in few days.We just started trying so I guess it would be a bit to much to expect it will work the first time. But I want to explan a condition that I had 2 years ago. My periods are regular, but I had one cycle that was 43 days. I was sure I was not pregnant because we used condoms all the time. I went to the doctor and she told me that I had an unovulatory cycle, that ovulation never happend, and I never entered the second phase of menstrual cycle, so my endometrium just kept enlarging until it can't hormone levels can't sustain it any more. Then the bleeding started and menstrual cycle reseted itself. She mentioned that it is normal and it happens every once in a while. Just like a bunch of women ot there I'm hopping that's not the case this time.

Thanks for the info. That's good to hear as i'm confused about my alternating 39 and 21 day cycles.

I guess it is good to do BBT or CM check every cycle, because then you can tell if you ovulated or not. I may start doing it so in the future then I'll know and won't be wasting money on HPT's.
