Has anyone experienced UTI's in pregnancy?

jena - May 16

yes, I have, and have been told they are very common. I didn't even know I had one (that was weird!) but they said I did when testing a urine sample. These and yeast infections are very common.

about what time in your pregnancy did you get one?

meka - May 16

i did, a few weeks back, i was only 8 weeks, but i got an infection which i thought was thrush until it hit my kidneys, an dthats when it becomes dangerous, i was hospitalised for a weeks course of iv antibiotics. get treatment straight away so it doesnt get to the kidneys. like thrush theres a 50% higher chance of uti in pregnancy, your urine should be monitores every two weeks afterwards

The chemistry of the v____a and the urethra change and can favor infections. This can start early.

Well, if I am pregnant I would only be 4 weeks along...is this possible then?

I had UTI few weeks back, right after my implantation bleeding, it would call it, as it was very light and pinkish. Now after medications, no more bad cramps. Thought I was preggo but the HPT came out -.Now having a period, 6 days earlier than expected, it's dark red. But had very bad headaches and felt nauseous, body aches and cramps prior to this which is very unusual. Could I be pregnant? Please help.......

Can a UTI affect your pregnancy test?

Yes I have had two since I've been pregnant, and I understand that it's not uncommon.
