VENT

I am SO mad, I need to vent. My cousin's ex is now around 6 months pregnant and works in a packaging plant where they make shampoo, deodorant, lotion etc. Well ... CSST (Security and Health at work commission) has been checking up on her at work. But he just told me that her boss is not supposed to put her in the "glue room" as it is toxic for the foetus and that he puts her in there anyway, and that when CSST comes around to check up, the boss puts her in another line so they don't find out. I AM FUMED!

I suggest reporting it to better business bureau bc if anything is wrong with that baby then that company is going to be paying for its medical expenses.

Report it !! She needs to report it ..Thats F******* illegal and disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the cursing but I couldn't help it ...

That is sad...I dont blame you for being mad. Does she think she could be fired for telling him she cant be in there? Let him fire her...she can sue! Nothin would be worth having a baby thats harmed!

This is so sad...I am with LN if they fire her she can sue! Not worth the risk to the baby! I hate companies that think it is ok to do this to pregnant women!!!

Yeah I told my cousin she needs to contact both CSST and Normes du Travail (People you call when employers do things they're not supposed to!) and to tell her to stay the HECK out of the glue room.. I personally would go and tell her myself but I don't have her contact infos and secondly she dislikes me a whole bunch because she thinks I had/have a fling with my cousin (who is not blood related, we've just known eachother since we were yay-high and our moms were best friends, so to me he is my cousin). Anyhow, I hope she does something about it cause if not ... I don't know what I'll do [email protected]$

LN030905- Unfortunately In Canada we can't sue like in the states. We can but not for millions...She can get some compensation but it is also confidential and CSST is not allowed to disclose the name of the individual and it doesn't have to be coming from her.

Thanks, Emma, I didnt know that. At least she does have choices...but like we all said, before..nothings worth risking the babys health or her own for that matter!

meandmyself- I used to work in HR and I know that she can make a claim and keep it confidential or have some else call for her and report it.

Thanks Em .. I'll send the message over to my cousin, perhaps he'll make a claim. He wants to talk to her boss (he knows him a bit more personally) and I'm not sure I agree with that but we'll see

I don't think talking to him directly is a wise desicion.

Neither do I .. I hope they fix this ASAP.
