Weirdness

I felt as though I were pg weeks ago, well on 9/11 my friend visited me. I do have an ovarian cyst which was found last year and was told It can cause pg symptoms. So just thinking that is what is causing all my weird symptoms, i just assumed and left it be. Well I went in for my annual to find out my dr is no longer there and decided to see someone new, he was awful!!! only in the room for 2 min, he did catch enough to hear the cyst and ordered an ultrasound. Well my US was 2 days later and the sonoagrapher was asking me all these questions about pregnancy, which I thought was odd. ?'s like how many times had i been pg and when do i normally miscarry: i have at least one MC. Well an hour later she asked about my last period, sept 11th. then she said "do you normally get your period when your pregnant"? what kind of question is that?!! Has anyone had an US with such weird questions? She also kept urging me to go see my original dr that left there and made me a copy of her new card so i could find her. I have been feeling PG symptoms for a while now and they come and go. Makes me nervous] the dr I saw will not be back for days and i cant take the suspense. the other dr saw my report and said he has to tell me] he's not even my dr. i'm going first thing in am and demanding my results. has anyone ever experienced getting there period and finding out they were pg? or having an odd US where for all she knew she was looking for a cyst, not pregnancy] am i just crazy?!

One in four pregnancies experiences bleeds in the first trimester. Was your 9/11 bleed lighter and shorter than normal? Have you been feeling pregnancy signs since 9/11 or even before? My guess is that the sonographer thought she saw a pregnancy, but it is up to a doctor (your doctor) to talk to you about it. Take a home pregnancy test, be nice to the medical establishment, and wait for your regular doctor to get back to talk to you. Good luck!

Thanks Grandpa Viv....I started feeling like my AF was coming 10 days beforehand. It came almost on time and seemed normal. So I thought just a weird month... until my ultrasound. Im more nervous than usual because I work at an animal hospital and i work with iso and radiation on a daily basis. After the sonographer made the comments she did I really got concerned. They are finally listening to me and I have an appt this afternoon with another dr. for my results. My original left and the one I saw apparently only works once a week. Isn't not proper to tell someone something even if they believe it to be true until a dr sees it? She has made me a nervous wreck for the past week. I still get PG symptoms...very bloated, cramping in abd, feel like a cactus is poking my nipples, some nausea when i eat. But I believe a cyst can cause symptoms like that as well. My question is really when do sonographer's draw the line on questions?? if they do not know than don't make comments!!

I'm glad they now understand your concern - legitimate. Sonographers are trained to be very careful to take pictures and not trespa__s on the doctors' turf. That is true for all kinds of ultrasound, not just pregnancy. I once waited for hours for a doctor to come "interpret" an X-ray of my cracked ribs. Eventually I said "What will he tell me once they are interpreted". Tha answer was "When you can take off the bandage" and I replied with "Here is my phone number. I have to get back to work". Sorry!
