My last period was January 27th. It was normal. I felt like I was pregnant towards the mid of Feb. I took a test on the Feb. 20th. Positive. My period was due on the 24th. I took another HPT. Still positive. I called my OB and made an appt. It was for today. They did an ultrasound. You couldn't see anything except the think pregnancy induded stripe in my uterus. According to my last period... I am 4wks and 3 days pregnant. My doc seems concerned that I got a positive result 10 days ago. He thinks that was too early to get a positive result and only be a little over 4 weeks pregnant. He did blood work... but it wont be back til tomorrow. I have to go back Friday for it to be done again to see if the levels are doubling. I just want to know if any of you went through this. Im scared to death that I could lose another baby. The HPT I had used was First Response Early Result. I got the + at 10dpo. What do you think.......

I got my bfp at 8 dpo, 3 weeks 5 days pregnant. I am now 16 weeks preggo and all is well. My first appt was 1 week after positive test and all we saw was a tiny (really tiny) sac. Wait until you get your blood results back. No need to panic.

MrsShelton217 - February 28

They do not see a sac. When do you normally see the sac? I thought it should be there by now....

Laceyandsamsmamma - February 28

dont panic I had an U/S at 5 weeks with my 2nd pregnancy and they didnt see the baby or the sac they thought I m/c so they gave me a shot to clean me out called methotrexate and when i went back my hgc levels went up 2 days after the shot they could see the baby but by then it was too late so dont panic babies grow at their own rate I am sure when you go back you will see your baby.

Yes, do try and relax. Your little bean needs you to! It IS totally normal to not see anything this early; it's just plain too tiny! I don't understand why docs do US's any sooner than 5 1/2-6 weeks. There's nothing in your post that screams concern. It sounds like everything is normal. Relaxing and thinking positive is the best thing you can do to help your pregnancy progress. Take care!

Also.... it wasnt even a trans v____al ultrasound... they did it abdominally

BrendaW - February 28

Laceyandsamsmamma, you miscarried because they gave you the shot? That is so wrong. I am so sorry. Mrs Shelton good luck to you i will have my fingers and everything crossed for you.

Laceyandsamsmamma - February 28

if they did abdomin there is no way they could have seen it that little I had a v____al one and they had a hard time with it. Dont worry you and your bean are gonna be fine. And YES Here is the deal with it I was carrying twins one was a eptopic that burst and the other they didnt see so when they gave me the drug to remove the tissue for the eptopic it killed the other one after 2 weeks it quit growing and i had to have a d & c it was the hardest thing to go threw first you are pg then your not then your pg but if the baby lives the drug could cause a lot of problems then your not pg and we have to take it.

I had a faint faint barely visible + at 9 dpo and a nicer BFP at 11 dpo. I had a u/s done when I was 4 weeks and 5 days and the tech didnt see anything; no sacs nadda. Also I had HCG taken at 4 weeks 3 days and it was 186 and 43 hours later it was 397. I had a repeat u/s done at 6 weeks 5 days (baby was only 6 weeks 2 days) and the tech saw all the sacs, fetal pole and a nice strong HB. i am currently 24 weeks and 5 days preggers with an active wee one that's kicking as I type this.

Downbutnotout... that is VERY rea__suring!!!! Thank you!

jessicaspatherapist - February 28

i had a faint + at 8dpo and a clear at 9dpo so i'm not sure why your doctor finds it so odd that you found out just past 4 weeks. is he not up to date on the latest home pregnancy test sensitivities? i think you said you're getting a new doc anyway..thank goodness!

MrsShelton - Don't worry about them not seeing anything because you can't see much at 4 weeks anyways. I just can't believe that they didn't do the ultrasound v____ally. I've never heard of a doctor doing one abdominally until after the 1st trimester. I was still have v____al ultrasounds with this pregnancy until my last appointment which was 13 weeks. Good luck and I'm sure that everything will be fine!!

Mrs Shelton did you get your blood work back?? What was it? When are you going to go in again for an ultra sound???

Martha31 - March 2

MrsShelton: you should not be too concerned. I was exactly 6 weeks pregnanty when my doc was able to see anything for the first time....My first appt was at 4 weeks and we saw absolutely nothing....blood test was positive.... Now trying for another baby...will be testing on March 8-9....anyone elsoe testing on these dates?:)

Laceyandsamsmamma- I just wanted to know if I could join to ask you a question. They same thing happened to me. The doctor convinced me at 6 week that something was wrong with the pregnancy because my numbers were going up but not doubling. He gave me the Meth shot. I only found this website after the shot and found that there have been succesful pregnancies and the numbers stopped doubling. I needed to know how are you dealing with it, i literally feel like a killed my baby. It hurts me daily. I would have been 16 weeks this week. I cant seem to let go of the hurt. Just wanted to know how you handle it day to day. I didnt meant to intrude, just wanted some advice. thanks
