What Will Be The Hardest Thing To Give Up After Your Bfp

So, for all the ladies who have not yet become pregnant and also those who have, what are you dreading giving up when you're pregnant (or what did you give up?)? For me, I think coffee will be the hardest. I really love my coffee, especially now that I've discovered the beauty that is Peet's. How about you? Any fish lovers that will have to give up their favorite fish? Not yet ready to give up rock climbing (another one of my loves) or scuba diving or another sport?

This is a cute idea!!! I love fish...salmon, trout, catfish, talapia...I like it all...i was brought up catholic and we ate alot of it! lol! I was also raised up in a family of hunters and this will be my first yr of actually doing it, but if Im preg come fall i wont be able to get up in a stand..so im kinda bummed about that but seems sooo worth it!!

hi lin, i have thought about that before. and i would say that about 6 months ago i would have said smoking definately. but after ttc for so long i figured that maybe that was the problem from the start so in october 05 i quit smoking, but still no bfp! anyhoo i think not working out will be hard to stop if i do get preggers. since i quit smoking i have kinda been in the routine of working out every day to avoid "quitter's weight gain" so we'll see

Let's see. I gave up Pepsi. All soda really. I cheat every once in a while. They say one cup of coffee a day is okay, but I gave up the whole caffine thing anyway. It helped me a bunch for my first pregnancy. I lost like 6 lbs my whole pregnancy, but then when I gave birth to a 9lb 12 oz baby, I lost like 50lbs. So I was back to where I wanted to be anyway....and this time, since I kept most of the weight off, I have only gained like 6lbs in 27 weeks....so what I guess I am saying is, it was/is worth it for more reasons than just my baby. Also I like a gla__s of wine when we go out or a beer when we bowl, but have had to give that up. But since I didn't drink much anyway, no biggie.....I got pregnant soon after I stopped nursing my first, so the main thing I miss is not haveing my body to myself since Nov of 2003...my dh misses that too, casue my bbs are too sore for him now and he stayed away form them while I nursed.....I nursed my dd for almost a year and plan on doing the same for this one.....so sometime around June of 07, I may get my body back. Small price for babies, I think. sorry wrote a book, what about everyone else....

Good on ya, tiki! Congratulations on quitting smoking. I quit smoking just about four years ago after smoking like a chimney for over a decade. It's a tough thing to do, but once you do it, it feels good.

tiki, as long as you have a healthy preg, it shouldn't matter if you work out. You may have to cut back and not do a lot of high impact stuff, but working out moderately is good for baby and helps you drop lbs easier after birth, before you are even up to working out again....good luck

hey ladies! Theres nothing that I would have to give up necssary....but I would like to eat more healthy. Less fatting foods..I am not really a fruit eating person. So some things in my diet would have to change for sure.

Hi Lin! The hardest thing for me would be coffee/tea. I have a cup of decaf coffe or tea every morning.

Tea and Coffee for me and I am pregnant and have reduced to one cup a day vs 3 or 4.....

Ladies, Why exactly cant we eat fish again? I know there is a reason but I thought it was only raw fish like Sushi we werent allowed...I could have sworen I read eating certain fish was good. I'm confused!

I know that alot of it has high levels of mercury..i could be wrong...but I know we have a small lake about 40 min from here and ppl have said that preg women should not eat from the pond...so..i dont know..I could be wrong [email protected]

Emma2 - March 22

Yes ! you are right about the mercury but there are certain fish that contain more and some less...I'm just wondering which ones do and don't .

LN030905 - March 22

I know you can eat up to like 6oz a week of the bad types...I have heard that tunas bad...

Emma2 - March 22

Cool, I'll stay away from tuna....I think I'll do some more research. I'll let you all know for sure if your interested.

LN030905 - March 22

yeah! thanks so much! Thats so kind!

Steph - March 22

You can have one can of 6oz tuna per week. Don't eat fish containing acc_mulated levels of mercury in their fatty tissues such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish. :o)

I think I'll miss beer a lot, too. I've never been much of a wine or liquor person, but I do like my beer. At the same time, I'm glad I'll have to give it up. It's probably the one thing that keeps me from losing a bit of weight.
