How long do you girls think a person should wait before consulting a doctor about a late period. I havent been this late in years. DH is just starting a new job and our insurance hasn't kicked in yet. I'm 16 days late with no signs of AF and 3 BFNs.

Kimberly, When does the insurnace kick in? I have read on hre that some women do not get a positive home test until 8 weeks. Is there a free clinic near you? How sensitive are the tests you've taken? Are you ttc?

I don't have insurance either, but it is worth the $65.00 office call just to keep my sanity. I figure that I will probably spend that in HPT's if I don't get an answer soon....good luck

16 days is a long time - make sure you are getting the really accurate HPTs (I hear the Dollar Store ones are great) to pick up your hormone. Good luck! And as Amanda said, an office visit might be worth the peace of mind! :)

Yes we are ttc. I have taken 1 Dollar General hpt and 2 Accu Clear all of which I think are supposed to detect early. The day after I took the Dollar General test I pulled it out of the trash can to look again.I could see a clear line where the pink one should have been I waited a few days and took the Accu Clear and it was BFN....2 days later.....another BFN Accu Clear. I, sure I'm not pg, I just don't want to accept it :(
