If you are not ovulating you can't get pregnant. The egg lives in a little buble and at the begining of the menstrual cycle some eggs begin to mature. At the time of ovulation the bubble ruptures and releases the egg into filopian tube.In filopian tube the egg can get fertilized if you have s_x at the right time. So if the bubble doesn't burst (ovulation) the egg never gets to the place where it can be fertilized.

Yes and no, you can't get pregnant without ovulation. However sperm can live for 5 days in your body. So if you have s_x and ovulate before the sperm die then yes.

Susan- Everyone's posts are correct, but it depends on what you mean by "not ovulating". Some women have a medical problem where they do not ovulate and their body does not release an egg, and they can not get pregnant unless they have help to release the egg like medication, etc (See Ana's post for this one). If by "not ovulating" you mean a day in your cycle when your body does not release an egg, then refer to Kim's response because the sperm and egg can live in you and you can actually conceive on a day when you did not have s_x. If you don't want to get pregnant, then you need to use protection to be safe. Don't rely on guessing when you ovulate and a__suming other days are safe.
