I am pregnant. The father is 26, I am 25. Things were going great between us until I got pregnant. He told me he doesn't want to be a father yet and he wants to sign away his paternal rights. He has walked away. When the baby is born should I let him do that?

No way!!! Why do you have to raise this baby on your own? Because of pride, that is absolutely wrong. Both of you are responsible for this child and don't let anyone tell you different! I resent my mom for never making my dad pay because she always struggled, maybe had she taken him to court and been more aggressive maybe there would have been a larger amount of good times than all those hard times!!! Don't let him wipe his hands clean that easily..it's not fair to you or to that child. He doesn't have to see his child but he should pay to support what is partially his own!!!!!!!

I wish the guy who got me pregnant would have said that to me. the father of my son told me he wanted nothing to do with the baby.so i had my son, and now he is hara__sing me, i am trying to terminate his paternal rights. my son would be better off without his father in his life. i have turned down child support. if you feel that you and the baby would be better offf without him, then go ahead and do it.

I look at it this way, Any man who takes the risks of getting a girl pregnant by having s_x must be ready to be a father.Otherwise they wouldnt be having s_x.He knew the risks and he cant just walk away now that he thinks he has made a mistake.Make him pay for the baby since he dont want to be there.Atleast you know that he wont be getting away with leaving you by yourself with a baby he helped produce.
