My doctor told me to have back up birth control during my first month of taking birth control, is this because i have more of a chance to get pregnant or is it because i havent been taking it long enough and i dont have enuf hormons in my body to stop my body from ovulation??

You ovulate about 12 days after your period starts, so if you start taking the pill when your period ends, you may still ovulate that cycle, because you'll only have been taking the pills for 5 or 6 days already.

oh, thanks....sooo, the chances of getting pregnant during the first month dont increase but they just dont decrease yet...right??

right, but don't risk it. At the very least, figure out your fertile window (google ovulation calculator) and don't have s_x then.
