i was just wondering if there was any 19 or 20 year old out there that have been pregnant and have been a little uneasy about telling your parents. now i have been with my boyfriend for a year now and we plan on getting engaged soon. i am not for sure pregnant but i am 12 days late. i tested yesterday and it was unclear so i am going to test again soon. i was just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation or is right now! thanks

I'm 19, 20 next Sunday!!! And i'm 10 weeks pregnant, me and my bf of 2 years were actually trying, but didn't tell anyone. I was so worried about telling my bf's parents, but they were fine about it, i think it also depends on your circ_mstances, we live together, and have been for over a year now, both have jobs, so i get good maternity leave, have our own car etc. I know exactly how your feeling though, i was on birth control and got pregnant when i was 16 (so stupid) and i was so incredibly scared of telling my parents!!!!! They might suprise you though, obviously your in a committed relationship too, which also helps! Do you want this baby if you are?

oh definately! we also live together i work in my family business and he has a good job but is about to get an even better one so financillly we would be ok i think. he is 27 and feels like he is getting older and wants to be able to enjoy his kids...we moved in together after only being together for 2 months... we just knew right away that we were going to be together forever. my parents didnt like that one but have got over it. so i am hoping if i am they will accept it

I'm sure they will, you seem very stable, which is what a child needs! Even though me and my boyfriend have our own home etc, we still worry about the expense of everything, unless your a millionaire who doesnt?? My mum was exactly the same with me when i met my bf, took ages to accept him (where both the same age, went to school together) but as you'll soon (hopefully) find out, thats just you mum trying to protect you! One thing i will say though, if you are, the best way to do it, is to sound really happy about it, if they think your upset about it, they'll get upset about it! Just a tip i learnt!!! What was up with the test when you took it??? Have you been getting any symptons?? I knew the day i missed my period, i had sore bb's for about a week, which is normal for af too, but they were EXTRA sore, i had a really, really faint positive, it was wierd actually, i took 2 tests within an hour of eachother and the 2nd one was a lot darker than the first!! When are you planning on testing again?

Well Autumn I am 20 I was 19 when I got pregnant. I also moved in with my boyfriend (now my husband) after only knowing him for 3 months. We ended up getting engaged right after and of course my parents didn't really like that because I'm the only child so they see me as the baby. But they got over it and love him...now! But I got pregnant when I was 19 but we were married but I was still really nervous for telling them. Because our parents have brought it up that we are to young and need to wait but we didn't really plan this one. But when we told our parents they were really happy and now my mom just doesn't stop talking about it! Which is good I guess. So maybe they will be more understand since y'all do live together. But good luck and keep us posted!

well actually the test was really really fainly positive but i am going to test again either today or tomorrow morning ...probably both. it's just so weird because i am 12 days late its not like 2 or 3... i have never been 12 days late. i think my parents would initially accept it but the other thing is that with our business it's a compet_tive cheerleading gym. and i dont know if you guys know very much about that but its so much fun! i love coaching these kids..anyway if i am preg i know every parent and kid in our gym and i am afraid they will judge me because i am not married or anything... i know shouldnt worry about that but i do!

OMG you got a faint positive!!!!!! Well, i got my 2 faint ones, and 4 days later i took another one and it was the best thing i've ever seen in my life! I really think you are though hunnie!!!!!!!! You can get lots of false negatives, but false positives are incredibly rare!!!!!!! I loive in th UK, so i don't know much about cheerleading clubs etc, when i left school we were the 1st year to have a prom in the 100 year history of the school! Don't worry too much what other people think, i know it's hard, as that is one thing i'm worried about, i have a small frame and when i use to smoke, i use to get asked for id all the time! (i look young?) But you need to think, what would i prefer, a positive test, a little baby and a few bad looks, or a negative???? And I'm sure all the kids will think it's great, but it won't persuade anyone to go out and get pregnant, and i'm sure it will all be ok!! You so have to let me know as soon as possible! I'm so excited for you hunnie!!!!!!!

thanks...it is so awesome to have someone your own age to talk with. i know i am not really a teen but in the other forums the other women dont really want to talk to you because they think you are so young. i ordered tests off of ebay like 5 days ago and i thought they would be here by now but i think i am going to have to go buy some. i almost want to go buy them now because i am soooo anxious!

Ddvinson3 - May 18

Yeah I would def. go buy some. Don't be embara__sed of that either! You don't need to worry about what other people say but yes I know it's hard. And yeah the other people don't want to talk to me either because of my age. I found a good group on "The General questions" page and they do not judge me because of my age! But I still like talking to ladies over here too! Good luck and keep us posted!

ok well i just took one and it was negative. so i guess i'm not but i am still 12 days late for af! now i dont know what to do!

autumn85 - May 18

is it still possible that i am pregnant?

Jodie86 - May 18

If you haven't had your period then it is still possible!!! Why don't you get a blood test arranged? There more accurate!! You might be one of those women that don't get a positive hpt for ages!

autumn85 - May 18

maybe i will call and get one.. i just dont want to have the disappointment of getting another negative!

Jodie86 - May 18

Well, your 12 days late, so a blood test should deffinately be accurate, and you have had a faint positive, what levels were they able to detect? Some detect 20mg some 40, you could of done a 20 one b4 and a 40 one after? Were they the same? Remember, false positives are REALLY rare! Me and my bf had been trying for months, everymonth, even when i was a few days late and i took a hpt (when i wan't obviously) i never once had a false positive!!! How faint was it, mine looked like someone had drawn a line with a pencil really hard and then rubbed it out, so you could just about see it, but was deff there!!!

autumn85 - May 18

i dont know maybe i imagined it. now i am really doubting myself..and no they werent the same test and i dont remamber what levels the first one could detect but the 2nd one didnt even say on it

Jodie86 - May 18

I deffinately think you shoud test again! Have you had any symptons?

collint3 - May 18

I believe that every young parent goes through this. I am 18 and will be 19 in july and due in august. My parents were so upset and dissapointed because they wanted more for me, but this is what my fiance and i wanted. But now they are all excited and can't wait for her to get here. Good Luck
