I was booked to go into section on the 7th of december - not this friday but next - and they have brought it forward to monday, and i know its only about 4 days earlier but as it feels so much closer i'm beginning to get nervous! has anyone had a planned c section before, and how did they feel? after having my first by crash section i felt awful and so ill, i felt so much shock and the pain was horrendous. i've heard its easier for a planned section but was hoping someone could tell me how much easier it was!?

i had a planned c-section and i didnt find it that painful at all. i think its worse when its not planned cause my friend had her baby the day before and she said hers was very painful. i think it makes a big difference! ul b fine! i really didnt think it was that bad. GL! xxxx

I can't compare what a planned section feels like to an unplanned one but my planned one went very smoothly and my pain afterwards was miminal. I was able to walk around 2 days later. I think there is a big difference when the doctor has time to get the baby out and cut carefully so as to cause the least amount of trauma to your body. My c-section too came earlier than expected, by about 2 weeks. My water suddenly broke and she came out 4 hrs. later. Trust me you will be happier that your baby is comming earlier.

Sorry I dont know cos I've never had a c-section, but I just wanted to say good luck! I would imagine though a planned one would be a lot more relaxed and the surgeon could take their time more than in proper labour/emergency x
