to all the ignorant people - February 19

i am now 21 had my child when i was 17 and yes i was on welfare and still am. I got pregnant with my first boyfriend the ONLY person I ever slept with and lived with for three years. How does that make me a s___t? I DO NOT sit at home and collect YOUR money. I work two jobs and that still isn't enough. It's a hard world. Sometimes you need a little help. God forbid that you would ever need alittle help in your life, that would mean your just as bad as us right? wrong. there are alot of good people that need help. so get of your high horse and see that everyone doesn't get everything handed to them on a sliver platter.

Probably, but collecting welfare and child support will not leave you worse off than you are right now, it will be better. It's the right thing to do, the babies father should have to pay for his child, not the tax payers.

Just my Opinion - February 19

Everyone including myself is cynical about welfare because it is abused constantly and there are a lot of girls who lack the desire to work. As for the Check - Cheque debate they are both correct. It depends on whether or not you are in the US or Europe. Don't be so closed minded. Next the welfare system needs reform and if this young woman is so concerned about a check decrease then it makes her seem more like an abuser. Welfare is designed as a short term solution to rough times not a lifetime income. And YES I am sick to death of paying for lazy people to sit at home and do drugs and ignore their children. I also know a friend that had a baby young and used welfare to go to college and take care of her daughter and no she is a social worker. So yes it can be good. But it must be temporary!!!!!!!

Sorry Gina - February 19

In this entire post you actually never received a decent answer so I'm bumping you to the top. Maybe someone without a grudge is actually going to help I would but I don't know myself!!!

TO to all the ignorant people - February 20

To "to all the ignorant people" umm isnt it illegal to accept welfare whilst having a job at the same time??you have 2 jobs. i think it is...

tiffani - February 20

I beleive mimi and myself gave fair answers. There is no way to know exactly how the welfare will be affected until a social worker reviews all the details of your case, including how much child support your boyfriend can provide.

Me - February 20

Actually, if you're on welfare they make you get a job, if you don't get one they take you off. Thats for Cash a__st. not Food Stamps/ Wic.
