so i heard that using a condom during s_x is only 97% safe, is it because that 3% chance it will break? or is it still possible for the girl the be pregnant even if it doesn't??? thanks for answering.

Jeremy, there is a chance if any pre-c_m got near the v____a, ie. condom goes on the wrong way to start. I personally suggest two methods of birthcontrol, be it a contraceptive jelly, birthcontrol pills, etc. That way if the condom breaks there is a back up. Hope that help a little

This is from the Planned Parenthood website: Of 100 women whose partners use condoms, about 15 will become pregnant during the first year of typical use.* Only two women will become pregnant with perfect use.** More protection against pregnancy is possible if condoms are used with a spermicide foam, cream, jelly, suppository, or film.

My husband and I used condoms for three years. In that time, we had two break...it looked like a popped balloon...and we were using them right.

It is still possible. They are made of rubber in a factory. Sometimes they break, sometimes they can have tiny holes in them. Using a secondary form like spermicide or pills can really make a difference. (Note: Ihad a condem break just once when I was 18 and "boom" I was pregnant, lol. Sometimes once is all it takes.
