Help Condom Broke Took Plan B But History Of Late Periods

hysterium - June 30

I don't know where else to post this but I'd really appreciate any kind of help, advice or personal experiences. I'm 19, my boyfriend's 20 & we had s_x yesterday at around 2 PM. He was wearing a condom & I am NOT on any kind of birth control. The condom tore & as my boyfriend pulled out to ejaculate (into the condom), it got all over the exterior of my va___a as well as inside. We ended up purchasing Plan B: One-Step at around 9 PM last night which I promptly took but ate my dinner afterwards. I went to sleep shortly thereafter and I have not experienced any side effects as of yet but my stomach has been churning from the stress. I'm just concerned as I have very irregular and often late periods. If they're normal, they come roughly every 30-31 days but they have been coming late for the past few months. According to my calendar, I started my last period May 26 and it ended roughly around June 2. I believe that I was about to start this month's period but I do not know what's going on. I tried checking ovulation calendars but it's really confusing for me to comprehend especially in my state of delirium. So I'm just wondering, generally, how effective is Plan B? Is it more or less effective if taken before the menstrual cycle is about to commence & am I imagining the stomach pain and slight cramps or should they be taken seriously? Also, I plan on purchasing some pregnancy tests but how early should I buy them?

Relax! The most likely scenario is that your period is about to start. You probably ovulated a couple of weeks ago, and the egg is only good for one day. In the unlikely event that your ovulation was delayed a couple of weeks (stress?) there would be no point in taking a home preg test until the middle of July. GL!
