I Am Amazed By Some Of You

I am amazed at all of the bashing that takes place on the teen forum. I am not sure if teens knows this but people tend to lower themeselves to the poor treatment that they recieve but many will attempt to rise to the occasion when given support and well wishes. I realize that some of the posts on this board are disturbing and f-cked up but the responses from some of you seem to match the original post quite well. Try lending some supportive words once in a while and you might find that you can reach people more effectively. Given that often there are children involved, it might be worth the effort to help the parents on this board, right?

I am bumping this due to Chuckaas thread "How can I make her get an abortion?" in which I feel some support would be ideal. He is going to be a father and writing rude remarks does not help someone like Chuckaa who is in need of guidance. Where is the spirit people? The people you are bashing will ultimately have to face the consequences of their actions and it would greatly help them to prepare if you would take two minutes and lend some constructive advice or well wishes. It is not as if their problems will disappear and the cruelty only brings people down. I would not want to take a future teen father down anymore than he already is. It will not help him, his girlfriend, or the baby. Chuckaa, I do not blame you for feeling scared and I know that you will do everything possible to be good to your baby and to prevent future babies until you are older. Much older...

Many people have strong feelings on this issue but get so outraged that they can't be objective and end up saying hurtful things. I too have been sad and angry at many of the posts on this site but I still try to keep an open mind and hope that my suggestions do help people.

Good luck Chuckaa and I am glad your parents are helping you both through this. Audrey, your advice is always impartial and kind. I have very strong feelings about teen pregnancy and am very against it. I just don't want to say nasty things to them knowing fully well that I did not want to listen to adults as a teen either. They want to experience life for themeselves. It would be wonderful if teens were robots and parents could program all of their experiences into them.

You know what else Chuckaa - there are going to be many people that will work hard to bring you down b/c they will feel critical of your situation. It would be an a__set to you and your family if you can overlook the negativity and positively focus on your role as a father. It is necessary that you mature faster than you ever imagined so that you can be a strong figure in your baby's life. Your parents will try to overstep your and your girlfriend's roles as parents but it is crucial that while you accept some guidance, you also take charge in your child's life. You have a right to be a central figure to your baby and I am sure that hers and your parents will not be able to naturally give you the space that you might want. For parents of teens giving birth to a baby, it must not be easy to stand by and let them raise the child without interjecting thoughts and ideas. Just know that it is up to you to display the extra maturity as you are in a position to need to prove yourself due to your young age.

Lastly and I will shut up - I think the fact that you wanted her to abort is perfectly natural of someone your age. This will come as a huge shock to some teen females but teen males do not want to be parents and they will say ANYTHING to get a girl to have s_x with them. I don't think they are trying to decieve you necessarily but cannot control what comes out of their mouths when faced with s_xual possibilites. That is how h__y teen men are. For all of the girls on this forum that think their boyfriends would be happy if they were pregnant, think again. Their reaction will be much like Chuckaas and MANY will not accept the fact that you may decide to keep the baby. I do not think pregnancy is much of a reality to a teen male and when it becomes one, it is darn scary. So stop acting so surprised that Chuckaa wasn't jumping for joy!!!!!!!!!
