Say, you have post-natal depression..and you've got to take pills, medication, you know...but at the same time you've got to feed your baby...wouldn't the medication affect your milk?? wouldn't it be bad for the baby??

you need to consult your doctor on this one b/c they know which meds are safe and which arent! good luck, talk to a doc. though there are some that are safe i think either that or you will have to switch to formula...or suck it up and not take meds. a good doctor will go over the options with you.

As long as your doctor knows you're b___stfeeding, the meds he prescribes will be safe for you and your baby. You can double check with the pharmacist. There are several depression medications that are safe when you're b___stfeeding. Going without meds when you're depressed could be much more dangerous for you and your baby. Postpartum depression is a serious issue, and you really shouldn't "suck it up and not take meds." If you get too depressed to eat, or if you injure yourself because of the depression, that would be much worse than taking a safe medicine prescribed by a doctor who knows you're b___stfeeding.
