there is one thing i cant stress enough. no one is really told this!!! my midwife showed me. condoms!!!! they tear! so easily and everything tears them. you use vaseline they tear! you have oil onb your hands, even slighgtly from like touching your hair, its enough to tear them! i dont understand why, but its so easy! and you can tear them putting them on without realising. can i suggest (i know it kills the mood) that hands are cleaned as you use them and also that you check when they go on if your trying to not concieve! i hope this information helps people who odnt want to fall pregnant! i could have done with it 6 1/2 months ago!

That is the most ridicolous thing I have heard in a long time. They wouldn't recommend using condoms if they broke so easy. Did you have unprotected s_x and then try to blame it on a broken condom?

She is absolutely right. It is not ridiculous. If you use vaseline or mineral oil on a latex condom it does make it more likely to tear. You need to use water base lubricants on latex. Lubricate the inside and outside of the condom. (Many condoms are pre-lubricated.) Lubrication helps prevent rips and tears, and it increases sensitivity. Use water-based lubricants, such as K-Y jelly or AstroGlide, or silicone-based lubricants, such as Eros, with latex condoms. Oil-based lubricants like petroleum jelly, cold cream, b___ter, or mineral and vegetable oils damage latex.
