I'm 15, and I'm 17 weeks pregnant. I've been having really bad migraines, and I don't know what's okay to take for them. My tailbone also hurts really bad. I don't know what to do when that happens eaither. I also get cramps really bad. Is that normal? I don't have any bleeding with them, but I still don't know if it's normal or not. If you want you can email me at [email protected]

you can take Tylonol or asperin for the migraine the cramps are probably just your ligaments stretching.

You can't take asprin while you're pregnant. In early pregnancy it can cause neural tube defects and in late pregnancy it can cause problems with bleeding during delivery.

then why did my doctor tell me that i could take tylonol when i had the flu? Tylonol is basicly asprin because the main chemical is acetamenaphine (sp) maybe different docs tell patients different things just call ur doc and ask what is ok to take.

Tylenol is acetaminophen. Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. They're not the same chemical. Tylenol is a cla__s B during pregnancy, aspirin is a cla__s D (check out safefetus.com for info on how different drugs are cla__sed and on the effects of different drugs during pregnancy). This is what safefetus.com says about aspirin: In mothers it may cause anemia, antepartum and/or postpartum hemorrhage, prolonged gestation, prolonged labor, dose-related vertigo, tinnitus, headache and hyperventilation. High doses in the last weeks of pregnancy causes premature closure of ductus arteriosus, pulmonary hypertension, stillbirth, and intrauterine growth restriction. And Maren, I'm not trying to start a debate...just trying to keep all the mommies and their babies safe :-)
