There's no point in telling until you get a positive home test - it might not stick. Was this first time s_x? Test when you are sure your period is late or light. Tell your mom you got a positive test, or better yet show it to her within the 3 minute time limit. Then the two of you can decide how to handle the rest of the family. Best of luck!

Sorry to learn of your predicament. What early signs do you have? There's nothing to lose by waiting until you get a positive pregnancy test, but don't put that off much past a missed period. Sounds like you think your mom will not be happy, but I bet she had scares like this when she was your age. Ask her about that to get the conversation started.
