I'm 19 years old and I have pretty long and sometimes irregular cycles (36 days on average). Most people say that you ovulate 14 days before your next period, but I was wondering whether this is a rule or just an estimate. I know stress can delay ovulation, but can it also delay your period. I'm pretty sure I ovulated about 17 days ago, but I didn't get my period yet. I was wondering if this is normal, since the chances of me actually being pregnant are very very small right now.

the 14 day business is just an estimate. SOme experts say that the day of fertility can float 3 days on either side of that..... others say that it can float 5 days on either day of that. I tend to go with the three day idea, because I think it is very rare for THAT much variance, though it can happen.
