my periods have never been normal. i AM on birth control now. i just had s_x saturday i calculated my ovulation date now and it said that it would be around the 5th of feb. well i didn't have s_x until the 17th. so can i still be pregnant? i haven't started my period yet. ?

Ovualation occurs apprx. 14 before your period. So if you're due or suspect you are due for your period within a few days just take a test.

There is always the chance that ovulation didn't occur on time, but that is very rare. Don't worry just yet. Like the other commentor said, if you're officially late go ahead and test.

Most birth control pills are "combination pills" containing a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg during the monthly cycle). A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't ovulate because there is no egg to be fertilized
