I am considering adoption but I am afraid of what people will think. My mom thinks it would be best. The father isn't involved so I'm pretty much alone.

you need to do what is best for you and don't worry about what others think.

do u think u will be able to hand over your baby at the time?have u thought of raising him/her yourself?do whats right for YOU and dont be pressured to do something you dont want

There are lots of wonderful people who want a baby so badly, and if you feel that it would be best for the baby than thats what matters. Not how you would look or what people would think of you, all that matters is that the baby gets the best.

Can anyone relate to adoption personally or through a friend. I want to know what it was like and what to expect. How did you cope?

You should do what you feel is best. No questions ask. People who say things just dont understand and really it is none of their business. You may email me [email protected]

Kay, adoption is a hard decision to make. But it can be a wonderful thing. Open adoption allows you stay in touch with the adoptive family and recieve pictures. You can do a private adoption with the adoptive parents of your choice. You do not have to go through an agency. Agencies are only there to match you with a couple and offer counceling. If you have a family picked out you can do adoption without agency involvement. I cannot relate to your feelings as a birthmom but I am an adoptive parent and I know how hard it was for our birthmom. If you would like you can email me [email protected] I wish you the best whatever you decide.
