9 months just seems to be getting closer and... I'm scared I'm gonna suck as a mom. I cant even cook! What the h__l kinda mother cant cook for her family? I mean I burnt the buiscuits and managed to burn my brother all in a matter of 10 minutes. Even if i have a move by move recipie i still dont cook something all the way done, and i make everyone sick. All I can cook is Speghetti..and I dont wanta live off speghetti. I wish my parents never pampered me. I wish mom would've taught me to cook. All the teens who WANT to get pregnant dont know what they are in for... If I knew what was gonna happen.. I would've stayed away from s_x. I hate being scared of something cause I'm suppposed to be FEARLESS, but... lol I dont know how a itty bitty baby inside my stomach can somehow manage to scare me shitless...

The ability to cook can't determine what kind of mother you will be. You're just hormonal and little things are freaking you out. Have no worries your motherly intuition will come into play eventually :)

I know... its blah, I just want to be the best mom, I want to be able to back cookies and stuff for bake sales, and i want my children to eat homecooked meals every night instead of take out and tv dinners.. I'm just trying to prove to myself that I'll be a better mother than my mom. I mean, My brother left us when he was 14 and moved in w/ my grandmother. My mom's dissappointed me in so many ways... I wanta be better than that. I want my kids to be happy I'm their mom.

Cooking takes patience and also it don't take much, but as well being there to check up on things. The best thing to do when it comes to cooking is go off what you know. If you know speghetti, then try different noodles, and different sauces and start that way. With everything when it comes down to it, just make sure its at the right heat and you time everything accordingly. You may think its hard but having patience and time to set your mind on something is hard. But as mentioned it don't determine how you will be a Mom and as it is, your baby can't really eat everything you cook until they are a year old...so in between that time learn everything you can. But don't judge yourself so badly. Everything will be fine and you will be a good mom just as long as you love and care for your baby in every way. It may seem to go fast, but take the oppurtunity now to learn and do more things. But focus in on what you know and go from there. There are so many different kinds of pastas and noodles. Cooking hamburger meat is easy as well and focus out on boxed recipes and then venture out to making it yourself. Ask your Mom to teach you some things now, its never to late to learn

if you want to learn to cook a good place to start is with a crockpot. Crockpot recipes are super easy and it's near impossible to burn anything in a crockpot because it doesn't get too hot. you basically put everything in it in the morning and let it cook all day. After you make a few things then move on to other things. Another key is to watch what you're cooking. Things burn when you forget about them :) it's all about practice. You'll get it!

The crockpot is a good idea, I didn't even think of that but it truly is a good way to start and if you arne't sure how to do it then just buy a book that has recipes for it. but definately that is a great way to learn and you could start off small with that and just cook rice and beans the first time around. But there is MANY possibiities using a crockpot

freebird - February 28

I forgot to mention that the crockpot also a great way to get dinner going after the baby comes. I use mine all the time because I can just toss things into it in between taking care of the twins and when they're napping and the food stays hot until we can get around to eating it since dinner isn't ever at the same time :) If you learn a few good recipes with it now you'll find that it's very handy after the baby is born.

When I first started cooking I would screw up ramen noodles! I would cook them until they were so soggy it was like eating cottage cheese. You have to have patience and you don't have to cook fancy meals or anything. I make a lot of stir fries (fry some chicken or beef, throw on some veggies and a side of rice and you have a yummy 20 minute dinner), I use the crockpot often, during the winter the George foreman grill is my best friend ( so much better then frying and as long as you don't leave it for 30 minutes your not going to burn it), when summer comes I make most of my food on the outdoor grill and who cares if its a little burned?. Look for some kid friendly recipes (baked macaroni and cheese is my favorite and its so easy to make) and slowly try them out and you'll catch on soon enough. Your kid isn't going to care if your Martha in the kitchen.

Hey, just strolled over from the first trimester section. Don't dfeel bad. I can cook now but when I got married At 22 years old, I hade NEVER done a load of laundry. NEVER!!!!!!!!! My husband had to show me. Cooking I just got better as time went by and so will you. Look at it this way, your new little baby won't need your cooking for over a year. That gives you plenty of time to catch on.

Just start with th easy stuff. At first I didnt know what to do with a peice of chicken or fish, but slowly I learned. If theres a will theres a way. I love cooking today, and ppl call me for recipies and its the best feeling in the world. Go buy yourself a nice easy cook book. Start from there and you'll see you'll be fine

abriamiacadia - March 2

LMAO yup, i cant do laundry either -_- lol I swear it sucks..why didnt my parents give me chores? I dont like this feeling of not being able to do stuff. Arghhh every day I'm find more and more stuff I cant do.. This is just lovely, but Thank Ya'll for the tips. I wonder if they have a cooking for dummies lol. I did get a recipe for cream corned from my grandmother, but some of the ingredients It has in there I"ve never heard of. The one thing I've ever made that ever came out decently was a king cake... for Mardi Gras, that sucker was hard to make. but at least it got me an extra grade in French lol.

You could try a cooking course? basic cooking? it may help. But dont worry if you cant cook biscuits, there bad for children anyway! lol. Can you boil some vegetables. Can you boil a chicken b___st. and can you use a blender. if you can your set for the first year. and if you cant you can always buy baby food jars or baby powdered foods and just mix it with hot water! ask your mum if when she cooks you can help her and talk to her about what your doing, as it will help you to pick things up on the way. Watch cooking shows etc.

abriamiacadia - March 2

I cant join cooking cla__ses cause my hearing problem lol.. and ...boiling vegemtables cant be too bad, and are biscuits really bad for kids?!?! I didnt know that. lol I've been trying to watch cooking shows but gracious all that extra stuff they put in there? lol. And, Unless i wanta kill my family, I cant watch mom cook lol. =D I've tried watching my gma cook which is how i learned how to cook stew.. thats easy peasy =D I'm sure i can cook vegemtable soup if its as easy as stew lol. Guess my fam. will be living off stew and vegetable soup? lol I'm glad I have about 2 years til i hafta COOK COOK.

And that means more to him then food. lol. Well.. i hope so. Not that we're doing good or anything. I'm actually super close to calling it quits... He's not even trying to help me. : (

sweeti - March 6

look hear what u can do if u dont wanna cook just give the baby the vital he or she needs( not junk food) buy some whole wheats bread and stuff fruits, juice, small things the baby wont eat solid until about 6-12 months old..so u dont have to make any big meals just vital things that the baby can eat (nooo junk food) and u will see after time it will all come to place so dont worry being a young teen mother is just one of the fall backs good luck
