Waterbirth

has anyone here had waterbirth before i am thinking of doing that for my first birth labor does it hurt. i would like to know how it feels like...

Hi I have not had a waterbirth, but I thought about it. If you have a waterbirth then you can not have any pain medication. Good Luck

&&&- "Water birth" is a misnomer. You spend most of the labour in a tub of warm water to relax you and ease the labour pains, but I don't think you actually give birth in the water. You should consult your doctor to find out if it's a good option for you.

I have seen actual water deliveries, it is supposed to be less tramatic for the kid because the environment is similar to the womb. I remember seeing on Discovery these hippies having their baby in the Pacific Ocean. They had an obgyn on hand and all, it was actually pretty cool. The baby swam a bit before they checked his vitals etc. There were no complications.
