i am 17 and pregnant, i want to give the baby up for adoption because i know that i cant provide it a good life at this point and time, but i havnt told the father. Does the father have to be apart of the adoption?

Technically, no. You could claim to not know who the father is and there is nothing anyone can do about that. I still think you should tell him for moral reasons. There is something inherently wrong with a man not knowing that he has a child born into this world. Please think of him and not only of yourself. I am sure he will support your decision as most teen men do not want to be fathers. Good luck to you and I wish you much strenght during this time:)

yes legally he has every right. and you can get yourself in a sticky situation if he has not been told then finds out etc. 1st of all after birth you and he will sign the birth certif. only if he is there. now you can name him on there before you put the baby up for adoption;. but he has EVERY LEGAL RIGHT TO KNOW.
