2 Weeks To Go

I'm 38 weeks and have not had any sort of br___t "leakage." I do have some pale yellow gunky colostrum on the tips of my br___ts, but not very much, and no liquid to speak of. There's still time for the milk to come in, right? I plan to br___tfeed and then pump when I have to go back to work. Also, I'm 2.5 centimeters dilated and am starting to lose the mucus plug, little by little, it's gross. Just wondering how soon other women had their babies once they reached this point. This is my first.

First of all, your milk doesn't come in until after the baby is born, usually 2 to 4 days later, depending on how much you put the baby to b___st in the first days. Secondly, unfortunately, you could go until 42 weeks. My first was 4 days late and I was induced. The majority of first babies are late. So hang in there, I know these last few weeks feel like the longest ones, but the baby will come when it's ready. Good luck!

Your milk will come in after the baby is born....also, you could walk around dialated for weeks, its really not a good indication of anything...neither is loosing the mucus plug, that could happen at any time as well. I walked around at 3cm and 100% effaced for at least 3 weeks and ended up being induced.

Well, that's good to know about the milk. I had a friend who recently had her first baby and was leaking a ton around 36 weeks. Man, I was hoping being dilated and losing the mucus plug meant it wouldn't be too many more days! Guess I shouldn't count on it! Thanks for your input, it's nice to have other support during these last few weeks!
