im 36w now, but for a week now I HARDLY feel my baby moving. I have a heart thingy at home so I can listen and hear the HB, so I know he is still ok, but I dont remember the lack of movement like this last time around. anyone else? I go to the dr in 2 days....

im 36 weeks & 3 days... & i get lots of movement still.. so im not suree... i know that ive read online that once u hit a certain point u will feel less movement as there is less space for ur baby to move.

well I went for a NST lastnight and in the time I was hooked up (almost an hour) he moved 6x's but I only felt 2 of the times. I couldnt even see my belly move, but the NST picked up on it. So aparently he is moving and im just not feeling it. Wierd.

Heather-- I wouldn't worry too much. I just had my 32 week appt and asked my doctor whether the baby slows down movement later in the pregnancy--he said the baby moves just as much, but you might not feel everything movement like before becuase there isn't as much room and the baby doesn't have the extra space to wind up and give you a good wollop. He said if I wanted to do a kick count I should feel about 6 counts in 1 hour. If I don't then either call or I could eat or drink something, then try again. I'm sure everything is fine! Maybe you just have a big baby!

I had lack of movement with my first child - movement peaked at about 19 weeks and really slowed down in the week thirties - not sure why as she was only 5lbs 5oz but she was fine. We are told to count 10 movements a day and if you are getting that its fine, if not you need to call your doctor and get checked out. Sometimes when the babies head engages you get less movement.
