36 Weeks An Contracting Anywhere From 2 5 Minutes

i am thoroughly confused. I woke with contractions on Sat night and they were less than 5 minutes apart. it made me kind of nervous so i went to hospital. sure enough, i was having a lot of contractions, but my cervix was not at all dialated. I saw my doc on monday and had to go back in to the hospital that night to have blood pressure monitored for a while. The nurses were immediately concerrned that i was having so many contractions. They aren't really painful, but i know they are there. anyway, they sent me home and just told me to watch for bloody show, or my water breaking. Has anyone else had contractions this close together so early on without any other signs?

My boss did at work. She had contractions 2 minutes apart for hours and hours at a time. Her belly was rock-solid but she was only 34 weeks. She actually went past her due date and was induced because her cervix wasn't responding and dilating AT ALL. She was only a 1 when she went in for induction. She was just really, really uncomfortable and begging to be induced early.

My sister went into the hospital and was sent away two or three times before her contractions were regular enough to keep her. She walked around crying (contraction pains) for 3 days before she had progressed enough to stay in the hospital and have the baby. I'm not sure if that helps, but it's not unheard of to have non-progressive contractions close together and not officially be in labor yet.

It's not usually real labor until they are progressively getting intense. Trust me, you'll know.
