38 Weeks Gt Sleeping On Recliner For Last 5 Months

All, I am 38 weeks ... and I have a stone in my kidneys. I now have a STENT placed, so, no pain. I have been sleeping on the recliner for the last 5 months! Will this affect the position of the baby? Doctor says that the head is now fixed and she wants to induce me on the 14th. Another concern is that the baby is quite large 7 1/2 pounds! I am very pet_te (5'2") and have a small frame. Should I be concerned? TIA.

I would not induce, although I know that many doctors are quick to induce nowadays. You are small, but your body should have no problems giving birth. Unless of course your pelvic opening is too small for the baby to move through. I have two friends who are pet_te and neither of them have had any problems birthing babies. You just never know. I would not worry about it. Sleeping on a recliner should not affect the position of your baby. Sounds like to me you are close to delivery and I am not a fan of induction, so my advice is let your baby come when it is ready. Seven and a half pounds is not a big baby. Ten pounds is big! You will be fine, more than likely. Besides, more times than not the weight is not what they say it is going to be. They are just guessing. Good luck!

you should be fine i am 5'4" and delivered my 2 boys who are now 6 and 8 v____ally and they were 7 pounds 4 oz and 8 pounds. as far as affecting the position of the baby it shouldn't have anything to do with it if she is going to induce you it sounds to me that she is sure that the baby is in the correct position and should be fine.
