I begin my 38th week this Thursday & thought that at this point, my baby's movements would be less noticeable because he would be so crowded in there. Instead they feel more intense & at night in bed, my husband & I are entertained for quite lengthy periods of time by watching various body parts/limbs rolling across my tummy. Sometimes it feels like he is just going to pop out of my skin! Is this normal? Does anyone else have an active full term baby? It's my first pregnancy & of course, I am always full of worries! I should probably be happy to feel him moving so frequently- but instead I worry that he is too small or that he is in stress.

So, just wondering what any other April Mommies are feeling at this point?

Dont worry i am 37 1/2 weeks with my second child. My baby too thinks he must dance around all the time. He moves all day and night.

oh forgot to mention the reason it feels like the baby moves so much is because he/she is so large that even a slight movement can be felt, unlike in the past where you only felt the strong movements.

Yes be happy and thankful you feel good movement....worry if it were the opposite. Enjoy the final weeks. My due date is today and I still feel a lot of movement...actually it never really changed.

Mine flipped all over right up til the end! My youngest was 10 lbs. 6 oz. and 22 3/4"... you would think he'd have been too squished in there to move, but I guess not ;-)

I'm 38 weeks too, due on the 12th of April. When is your due date?

I also feel the same kind of movements and I worry that he maybe is small for his age. I'm not sure. At my 37 weeks appt. the doc said I measured at 36 but that that was normal near the end of pregnancy. Still...hard to not worry about the little guy.

Also! I got my first stretch mark on my belly. I've had them on my boobs forever because they grew really fast in the beginning but I just discovered two marks on my belly last night and I almost cried. Good thing this is almost over with, right?

Im 37 weeks 1 day, and my baby has just started moving ALOT the last few days. It hurts :(

my baby was VERY active the last few weeks...I actually felt her more in the end than I did in the beginning. She was a strong little girl....And now that I've had her and see her squirming around and kicking her legs, I know why I was in so much pain when she was moving in my belly!

Thanks for all the responses! It's good to know that all this movement is quite normal. I just can't wait to meet my baby boy face to face & see who has been keeping me up all night with their activity! Allypants- I am due April 12th as well! We only have 15 more days! I keep wondering if he will come early or late & as I near the end, I can hardly sleep with all the anticipation & anxiety (not to mention the cramps, peeing 4-5x a night, & the heartburn!). I just can't wait until he is here! Good luck ladies!

Atira36, you sound JUST like me! I am 36 weeks and at night especially over the last few days, it seems like he just won't stop moving in there, as if things are getting a little too cramped for comfort. I think his head or something is settling down into the lower pelvic area because boy do I feel pressure on my bladder, I get twinges very low and have to wait until they pass before I move again. Also, after sitting for a long period, or especially lying down for a long time, my pelvic muscles/ligaments ache. So yes, I'm getting a LOT of baby dancing just like you! I wish it were already week 40 and this was the night I was heading to the hospital! God Bless.

Atira36 i am due April 16th and i too am getting anxious. I think i had myself fooled into thinking this baby would be as early as my dd.........nope. I will be 38 mon and he still isnt here. My daughter was 4 weeks early. I know what you mean about the heartburn, cramps and peeing 900 times night. Well hopefully labor will happen for us all soon!!
