I just got my ultra-sound done today... (37weeks, 6days according to the u/s) I was measuring low on fluid last week and today it was good!!!! I increased my fluid intake and it worked!!! I was so worried about the baby I have been drinking, water, almost non-stop, allday, everyday!!! well anyways, I just wanted to let anyone who may be having this issue what worked for me!!! It may not work if you have a tear, but I am sure it may help a little!! hope this may help someone.. Best wishes to everyone!! -Nikki

that is great news. i have a friend that has low fluid and they might have to take her baby next week at 34w. she has an early calcifying placenta that is causing some of hte low fluid issues. usually your fluid just reproduces- even if you lose some, your body makes more- it is constantly 'refilling' the supply. but not for her. so glad yours improved!

I read somewhere that amniotic fluid regenerates itself every 3 hours. It's not unusual for us to lose small amounts of fluid in the last trimester, so drinking water is probably keeping you hydrated so the fluid can regenerate properly.
