This morning I had an actual contraction.....atleast I think I did! The best way I can describe it is it felt like a foot spasim, or what my husband calls a charlie horse, but only in my belly around the baby. It lasted over 30 seconds, and I was ready to start timing them, but it only happened once. Now I am getting the braxton hicks like crazy (but I was getting those before).... I am also feeling lots of pinching in more than one place at once. Any clue on what's going on? I am 36 weeks, and I was just in a bit of a car accident on thursday, but everything appeared to be ok...........need more info, let me know! Thanks guys

Braxton hicks are said to be contractions that don't cause dilation and labor contractions do. Often times bh are painless and irregular, but not always. Often times labor contractions are painful and regular, but not always. Therefore, it's hard to say. I wouldn't worry about one, but if it makes you feel better call your doctor or get checked out.
