I don't think that's completely true. I'm two days from being 35 weeks and I've been losing my mucous plug for 6 weeks now and have yet to go into labor. I don't mean to sound rude. My doctor said that losing your mucous plug is no indicator that labor is near. I have a friend who has been dialiated to two and losing her mucous plug for two weeks now she is 38 weeks pregnant. good luck

Jodi and Ash2 you are both right, if you use your whole mucus plug then yes labor is right around the corner but if you only lose part of it it can regenerate itself

I began losing my plug at around 35 weeks, but a day or two before my dd, I lost LOTS of it. And I mean globs. lol. Lots of mucous... very different from the bits and pieces from weeks earlier. The next day my water broke and off to the hospital I went!

With my first child, I lost my plug at 11 in the morning. I had my son at 10 p.m. However, my water never broke. The doctor had to brake my water 10 min before I gave birth. So every women is different
