Anyone In Bed Rest Cheat And Do Stuff Around The House

Just wondering. My doc said it was ok for me to get up and ride my exercise bike for 10 minutes 3 times a day. But for the last couple of days I have been using that time to do stuff around the house instead. I am going into the hospital to be induces next Sunday and I have so many things that I need to get done before that. Just wondering if I was the only one that was cheating cuz I fill kind of bad like I am going to hurt the little guy if I don't stay in bed, but then the stress of not having the stuff done is just as bad for us. Fell like I am in a no win battle.

Hi Tink - I am not cleaning the house but i do put away laundrey and light stuff. I mean its kind of ridiculous to think that I could permantly lay down all day without moving ever you know? I am going crazy too. I really need to go to the grocery. If I give my husband a list he will get half of the list because he can't find the stuff ect...but i am going to see if he can do it today properly if not i will make hime go with me while I throw stuff into the cart. I hope your induction goes well! I am still weeks away. At least you have an end in sight :)

I don't even have the nursery even close yet. In fact it is still full of office stuff. I was not expecting my little guy until March 25th, but becuase of GD and high blood pressure I am being induced at 36 weeks. However at my last appointment I was told I was dilated to a 1 and 75% effaced so I may be farther along then they thought. I didn't even have a car seat until yesterday. I have so much today and my husband tries to do the best he can but he has a full time job and I hate having to make him do all this stuff even though he says he does not mind. He has also been sick and miserable himself. My sister says she will come and help, but when she does come over she takes me to my doc appointment and then goes home leaving the office and everything we had talked about her helping with still needing to be done.

I know I was stressed out about the nursury too but my mom came last weekend and helped me sort it out. Is there anyone who can help move all that stuff out? You are going to need it next week :) Its hard on the husbands as well but its hard to remember that isn't it?

I don't even have crib yet. But I am very lucky because someone is bringing me a ba__senet today that I can borrow until the crib gets here. It was ordered and won't be here until some time next month. My husband is in taking a nap right now, but says when he gets up he is going to clean the kitchen, do the laundry and start on the nursery. I am having a baby shower at my house the day before I go into the hospital so I that means this Saturday so we have to get this house clean. We decided to have it hear since I was on bed rest and that away I would not have to go any where and it has been planned for over a month now before I new I was going to be delivering the 25th of this month and not next month. I kind of over did though this weekend because I went with my husband to Babies R Us Friday night to get the car seat/stroller and an outfit to bring our son home in. He said he could go by himself but he didn't want me to miss out on picking out that important out fit. Turned out they were out of the stroller I wanted to I ended up having to go back out the next day and go to a diffrent store much father away ( okay I guess I really didn't have to go but I really really wanted to) Then I made him take me to Wal-Mart so I could get some stuff to put in my bag to take to the hospital which I still have not pcked yet....did I mention I only have one week left.....I have so much to do this is so to the time to be on bed rest. I was going to try to take it easy today since I over did it Friday and Saturday but I just have so much to do and I am running out of time fast.....

I totally hear that. I would be so stressed knowing it was just a week away but also very relieved. Do what you can but don't push it!! Especially if you are on rest for your blood pressure.

As soon as I start to get a bit tired or my back starts to hurt ( which does not take long) I sit or lay down for awhile. I have a blood pressure machine that I use to check it several times a day. I am starting to feel better because my friend just brought over the ba__senet, high chair, and several other things. My husband has been working his little tail off getting the kitchen cleaned up. He even moped the floor. He also only has a few more boxes of stuff left to move out of what used to be the office and down stairs. My Dad and sister are coming over tomorrow to help me put the wall border up and get the room decorated. So it is all coming together bit by bit.

Boy Gretta....your pregnancy sounds just like my last one. I was on bedrest from 29 weeks and delivered at 37 weeks. Was on the blood pressure machine and had gd. I got up alot and cheated. Its so hard to sit back and watch husband tyring to do it all. Course I am 32 weeks pregnant with our last child and not on bed rest yet....but darn close. I am on mediciation for my blood pressure, but it doesnt help much. I am just about at the quiting point. I have GD with this pregnancy also and on insulin. I am ready to get this show on the road
