Baby Position

How do you know if your baby has dropped or if it is in the right position. I am 38 weeks. I feel like he is laying sideways. My dr. said his head is down. Would I be able to feel it through my belly? I am just worried. I want this baby out and I don't know if he is in there right. My dr. only felt with her hand for a second. I feel like he constantly moves though. Would I know if he dropped? It feels lower but I don't have a lot of pressure like I hear from others??Anybody have any idea what I am talking about? Maybe I am paranoid.

At 38 weeks your baby is too big to be changing position. It is very rare for babies to move out of the head down position at this point. I wouldn't worry about it. And as for dropping, you don't have to drop before going into labor, there is no rule. You may have dropped and just didn't notice anyway. Good luck!

thank you so much for your input. Makes me feel a little better. It just feels like he moves all over.

I know what you mean, I'm the same way, constantly obsessed with the baby's position because he/she was breech at 31 weeks, but did turn by 32. But the reality is only 2-3% don't get in the right position before term.
