It is smaller than average. I think the average weight around that time is 6 pounds. What did your doctor say about it?

Doctor says the baby is healthy just small, she figures he has stopped growing... Im worried though

Babies are different sizes. I was only 5lbs and 11 oz at birth and I was a full term baby.

I think it should be most important that your baby is healthy. I started throwing up again in my 3rd trimester and doc a__sured me that babies dun lose weight in utero even if i eat vey little. they just dun grow. could that be the case for you? I hope it helps.

hi there mountain mama, dont worry, that happened to me with my first pregnancy. They said that my baby was only small and that it would weigh about 3/4lbs when born. They got this sooo wrong, i had a healthy baby girl weighing in at 6lb 14 oz..............and she was 2 weeks early, she would have been over 7lb if went to full term. Good luck and dont worry, they dont always get it right.

Mountain Mama: I was told the same thing with my first pregnancy...the ultrasound was wrong. They said not quite 5 pounds and he was 6 14 and healthy...now at 10 months he's bigger than most his age.
