Babys Kicks In Sync With Second Hand On Clock

okay.... I know each baby moves differently but every now and then my baby will thump me with a steady rhythm that can last about a minute or two. These " thumps " or kicks or whatever they are almost in sync with the sound a second hand makes from a clock, just not as fast. And then it stops. It really puzzles me. I wonder what is he doing to keep a perfect rhythm like that ! Have any of you experienced this kind of movement? Also I am 33 weeks.

I'll be 33 weeks this Saturday. Every so often I feel the same type of ticking thump. It's pretty steady and lasts a couple of minutes. I've read about babies having hiccups, but I'm not sure if that's it. I've been wondering what it is too. From where it happens and the fact that I know my baby is already upside down and pretty much in position, I think it's his hands. I just don't know what he's up to.

your right. the baby does have the hiccups! I'm 38 weeks now and my baby gets the hiccups all the time. i had no idea what it was at first, and then i asked my doctor and he said that it was hiccups. its funny to think about it, your baby having the hiccups while he's still inside!! but it happens to a lot of babies!! hope that helps

Yup that sounds like hiccups from the fluid the baby swallows... feels kinda neat but can get a little annoying if it goes on for a bit lol

i never thought of hiccups !!! Could the " thumping " be his body bumping me everytime he hiccups? It does make sense, kinda cute too !!

Yep, I think it's the hiccups - my baby gets them all the time. I'm 30 weeks and they're pretty steady now, very gentle and I've gotten them with all of my babies - so cute.
