Beginning Of Labor

Concerned.... - March 19

Thursday I went to doc and was about 1-2cm dilated. Today I lost my mucous plug and have been having what I thought are Braxton Hicks contractions, but I haven't felt well today...nausea, horrible low backache...etc without going into too much detail. Should I call doc to see what he thinks or no?

Sounds to me like pre labour symptoms, however these could be weeks before real labour actually happens. Call your doc if you have any concerns though. its all ways best to get peice of mind. Take care and good luck

Call your doctor if the contractions become regular. I went into pre-term labor at 34 weeks. I didn't call the doctor until I had been cramping and contracting regularly for two days. (I had BH during first pregnancy and thought these were BH again) I got scolded by both of my doctors and nurse at the hospital. They managed to stop the labor with drugs. The baby is still small at 34 weeks, and despite being uncomfortable and miserable you have to keep in mind that your body is the best incubator the baby can have.

If you've lost your mucus plug go to the doctor. I just left the hospital today after being there for a week with pre-term labour pains. 34 weeks is OK but not great. However, you don't just go into labour all of a sudden, what you might be experiencing is your body prepping for labour. Just relax, rest in bed and go to the doctor, losing your mucus plug can't be good.
