Bright Blood

I had my membranes stripped last Friday and have since lost my mucus plug. I will be 41 weeks on Wed. I had brown discharge (old blood) with my mucus plug. Tonight, I started bleeding bright new blood. Not a lot, but everytime I go to the bathroom there are quite a few drops in the toilet. Also, everytime I wipe there is red/pink blood on the tissue. I called the hospital and they said it's okay as long as I don't fill a pad every hour. That seems like a lot of blood. I'm definitely not bleeding that much, but does anyone know if this is normal?? I'm just worried something might be wrong. My contractions are about the same (8 minutes apart and not too painful). has anyone else had red bleeding??

I honestly don't know if that's normal...but I would go down to or at least call your doctor and just make sure. Best of luck!!

hu, I would want to be seen by a dr. I dont know if its all that normal to be bleeding this far from having a swipe. Although have you had s_x recently, that will cause you to have red blood late in pregnancy, your cervix is very tender and mine blead last pregnancy each time I had s_x after 37 weeks. How long have you been having contractions for?

It seems strange to me that they don't want you to come in if you are having bright red blood. I had a bit of red blood when my labor started and they wanted me to come in right away because there could be something wrong with your placenta. I would definitely call you doctor. To me it sounds like you are in labor. Good luck!

sorry, i never trust ER's. If you think something is not right better safe than sorry. Best of luck to you.
