It seems the past few days my son has been moving alot more with jerky movements. It seems different cuz im not used to it but also there was a few times where it felt and my belly appeared to briefly shake. I got scared thinking crazy thoughts like could he be having a seizure? I am 34 weeks and was wondering if anyone else experienced this shaking baby thing?

I don't think so but not positive. You could always call the OB to be sure. ;) maybe it's hiccups! :D

I often feel something like shaking, and have never thought anything about it. Sometimes he even feels like he's running inside me! LOL

krc, I know what you are talking about! I haven't had it very much recently but earlier in my 30 weeks and before I felt it a lot. Supposedly what's going on is babys nervous system is developing and becomming more..."awake" for lack of a better word. So baby is just twitching and going to town in there...it's supposed to be a good sign! Ask your dr when you go for your next appointment though but that's what I was told!

Could it be hiccups that you're feeling? I know that when my baby has hiccups it feels like my stomach is vibrating. A very weird sensation!

i think i have them, but never paid any mind to them. Just felt like they were normal, part of pregnancy.

lol my son does that alot it use to scare me czu i seriously thought he was having seziers but he kept doing it and every dr apptment the dr said he was fine so i assumed they were hiccups im pretty sure its an ok thing :)

I agree with kimc. I think it is hiccups. My baby gets them all the time and sometimes they are so close together it feels like a seizure. I'm sure everything is fine. Talk to your doctor about it if you are worried.

i know what you're talking about. every now and then my belly will shake and it feels kinda like fluttering. i assume he has one of my husband's and daughter's traits that i tease them about. every morning when my hubby wakes up, he stretches, and his right leg always shakes. lol. my daughter does the same thing. that's exactly what it feels like.. like this baby is stretching and shaking just like his daddy and sister!

Laurabb4 - June 25th, 2006 10:48 AM

My baby does the same thing. It is different from when she gets the hiccups. Very quick shaking.

krc - June 25th, 2006 3:24 PM

thanks for the input ladies! I do feel better. I can tell you though the shaking and the hiccups are too different things. He gets the hiccups about 1-2 times a day so im quite familiar with that sensation. But the shaking was just like it says. A shaking, vibrating. I could imagine it being twitching. I have a dr appointment tomarrow so I'll bring it up!

no i don't think its hiccups because my baby boy gets the hiccups every day and it just feels like a jerk.. I get the shaking thing to and laugh wondering what the little monkey is up to. He is swallowed in water could be the fluid or anything. But I feel him when he gets hiccups and its not the same as when he shakes.
