Does anyone know if muscle ache creams like bengay or icy-hot are safe to use for backache and leg pain etc. while you're expecting?

I had the same question and actually went and bought icy-hot, but Dr said nothing that has aspirin or Methyl Salicylate. Just menthol, and I havent found one yet that only has menthol, except the blue star or something and it was too expesive for me at the time so I cant say if it works.

Something you may want to try is a product called Tiger Balm. Its a chinese topical balm that you put on sore muscles. I did some internet research and found that its ok during pregnancy in moderation. But of course you may want to consult your doctor first. I have used it before (not while pregnant, but I will now!) and it is wonderful!!! Just make sure you are getting the regular one, not the one for arthritis. Good luck!!

I use this stuff called Biofreeze. It is menthol only and works somewhat okay. I got it at my chiropractors. It is more of a natural thing - so I would try a natural store or some place like that for it. You won't find it in Walmart or the drug store.

Thanks, ladies I'll check those out, this back pain is getting intense and I still have a couple months to go! I might need to cut back my hours at work.
