Has anyone had their cervix stretched? If so did it put you into labour soon after that? My midwife is on her way to do that now. I'm nervous. I hope it doesn't hurt.

This was done to me with baby #1. Basically they press on your cervix and try to insert 1 finger tip and press and move in a circular motion. It is uncomfortable but it does work!!!

If it makes you more comfortable, I have heard it referred to as a cervical ma__sage. It just ripens the cervix up so that it opens more readily and is less likely to tear!

just had it done, she said i was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced and posterior so she couldnt do it really well!! i 4 days overdue, ill let you know if anything happens! although with all my false alarms ive lost faith i will go into labour on own and just waiting induction.
