Im 36 week and had an exam today. I hear alot of you saying you are lightning and dialated by now. I dont understand, the dr. could feel his head in the exam but a hard uterus. Im so ready to just have this little boy. I worry about everything and feel like going crazy sometimes. I just cant imagin this is really happening. Im gonna be a mom! How can someone be so excited and so freaked out at the same time.

very easily...and 36 weeks is still far off (sorry to say) meaning it is not surprising that you are not dilated yet..especially with your first one...this is my fourth and i am one cm (well..i was one cm on tuesday..i will go again next week) and i am due on the 27th of this month...

The dr. can feel his head, but it doesn't mean he's in the right position for delivery. Many times they are head down & the dr. can feel the head in front of the cervix. When you actually "drop" the head will shift back and sit right on top of the cervix which will help dilate you more during labor.

My son was at a +1 station and I was 1-2 cm dilated for about 3 weeks. It was not until I went into labor that my cervix thinned out and I dilated to 3. My son was 6 days late.

I am 13 days late and my cervix is still quite thick. I have to go into hospital tomorrow afternoon te get one of them tablets that helps think it out.
