Hi everyone....well Im 36 weeks tommorow and I just had my first internal exam yesterday...my docter said I was 2 cm dialated so does this mean that I might have my baby before my due date or is it normal? and does your baby have do be dropped for you to be dialated?

lucky! I'm 36 today and wasn't dilated at all at my appointment yesterday. I keep hearing that dilation really doesn' t have to mean that you're close to labor, but it sure seems like a step in the right direction! congrats!

Hi there, my last little guy I was dialated 1-2 cm for about 2 1/2 weeks before my water broke,, but I've heard of some going 4 weeks being slightly dialated... but with any luck maybe you'll be a little early...good luck....by the way I'm only 26 weeks right now, with my 4th baby

Dilation, effacement, & station have no bearing on when you'll have your baby.

true that Kaley, with my last one, I was 4 cm from 36 to 38 weeks and then 5cm till 39 / 5 when I delivered and it was my 2nd child. I had premature labor with #1 at 30weeks and was on bedrest for the rest of that pg So there is really no telling....
