i dont exercise, who has the strength to, you know? is it true that my labour may be worse because i am not as active? i am pretty toned.

I didnt exercise with my first and I was always tired and had high blood pressure. But with this pregnancy I have exercised and I feel so much better and have really only gained belly and a little bit of fat. I feel so much better and I am having no problems with my blood pressure. I am almost 33 weeks.

I have just heard that it is easier when you are in shape, plus it will be easier to bounce back after the baby is born.

what exercises do you guys do? i feel so heavy all the time

I walk around 15-20 miles a week. That is all I do.... before I got pregnant I use to run 35 miles a week and do weights... but morning sickness ended everything. I did not start walking until middle of my second trimester. I got scared I had gained 20 lbs in 20 weeks so I started walking and now I am 33 weeks and have gained a total of 24 lbs so it slowed down my weight gain. I do eat a lot several meals a day but walking helps to maintain and baby is growing exact.

wow monica.. i barely move around the house lol. i was a runner too, before getting pregnant. but not done much since :(

to anne, how many weeks are you. If your doctors OK's it you should walk at least 20 min a day... it really does make you feel better and gives you more energy. Then I dont feel so guilty when I do crave a hamburger :)

I walk every day. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week where I do about 30 minutes cardio and 45 minutes of light weights. I was motivated to go in the beginning of my pregnancy because the only time I had an appet_te was right after I worked out. I am now 29 weeks and I let my body tell me how hard I can work out that day. I have to admit it is getting harder.

I am so glad to hear other people in my same state I am in. I considered myself quite fit before pregnancy.....30-40 minutes of cardio 5 times a week, weights, etc, but just stopped about 10 weeks into my pregnancy. I have ZERO motivation to go for walks, or even walk to the bathroom! I hope I bounce back after pregnancy. I think it will be the same as when you are not pregnant, as long as you are motivated and do the work, you will be fine!

monica - I try to use the treadmill a cpl of times a week for 10 minutes at a time to prevent overheating. its soooo hot here in VA. I do feel better afterwards, but i wonder if its enough. i am generally doing light housework or laying down. I also work on the computer, so that leaves me sitting (changing positions many many times as you can imagine!) for a while too. oh - im 32 weeks, 33 weeks on saturday. i am thinking of using some ankle and wrist weights when i do housework, what do you think?

monica - June 9

to anne, wow it looks like we have the same due date. I will be 33 weeks on Friday. my due date is 7/29.... I think 10-15 minutes a day should be enought at this point. Just drink plenty of water. Like I said with my first I did even less of what you are doing right now and I lost all my weight in 5 months and was looking even better than before I got pregnant ....

anne - June 9

wow, we are due so close! how are you feeling so far? i am having great days and c___ppy days. the baby feels so big!

Im pregnant with my first baby 27weeks. I was not motivated to exercise at all, but pushed myself to, so I just signed up for a prenatal aquatics cla__s. Its alot of fun.Its not expensive at all and its only twice a week for 45minutes..

I used to alternate running 3 miles a day with an hour of biking a day...pretty much 6 days a week prior to getting pregnant. I continued to run on a treadmill about 2 miles 5 days a week until I was about 30 weeks along. Then it got too hard. I switched to walking on the treadmill for 2 miles / 5 days a week up until about 35 weeks. At 35 weeks my feet began to hurt and swell a lot and my stomach would pain me. Plus last week the little guy dropped...so basically other than a little light gardening I am not doing much these days (I am currently 37 weeks along). Sorry to say I have gained way too much weight 42 lbs. so far. The odd thing is that I had tremendous morning sickness for the first trimester. Also I only eat about 3/4 to 1/2 of what I used to eat (pre-pregnancy). Guess my metabolism c___pped out. :-( To me it is pretty depressing. I am used to being a fit person....my six pack stomach has turned into a keg...sigh...

to anne, I am just like you... I have my good days and my yucky days. My stomach feels so big and I hate going to sleep at night because I can not find a comfortable position. Plus I am in the bathroom all the time. I am sick and tired of being pregnant and my pregnancy clothes is begining to fit tight...after the first week of July I am staying home and wearing my husbands sweatpants and t-shirts..

monica - i finally got rid of those nasty hip, calf and foot cramps. i gave up the dairy and poof, gone. but i wake up like you do to pee. at least 4 times a night. it sucks.

monica - June 9

so the dairy was giving you the cramps I get them once in a while when I am sleeping.... but I eat a lot of dairy everyday. But my nails so good... I will miss my nails after I deliver.
