Does Everyone Lose Their Mucous Plug

I am currently 39 weeks and I was wondering if everyone loses their mucous plug before they go into labour. I mean I have alot of discharge but there is none of this blood or really thick clumpy stuff that I hear about. Can it just happen when you go into labour or does it have to happen before. I am starting to lose hope that it is going to happen. My baby has been dropped for over 3 weeks now and I thought I would have had something happening by now. Please help

It can happen when you go into labour. It will certainly happen when your water breaks. No big deal, either way it is coming out or baby can't be born. Either it comes out naturally or manipulated by doctor.

Thanx, I went to the doctor today and asked her if everyone loses it and she told me no that lots of people just go into labour. So I guess I'll just keep on waiting.
