Does Walking A Lot Really Bring On Labor

So my due date has come and past. I'm scheduled to be induced next week, but I really want to go into labor on my own. My Dr. told me to try s_x and nipple stimulation, but that walking won't really make much of a difference at this point. What do you guys think? I'm getting desperate! (Although not desperate enough for castor oil!) I'm normally very active and would walk a lot if it would help me go in to labor or not, but my baby is so low and I have severe pelvic and sciatica pain. If people say it helps, it would be worth the pain to me to walk a lot.

I had a doctor's appointment today and he encouraged me to start walking..so who knows? I'm gonna go on a power walk this weekend!

My mom said it worked for her when she was pregnant with me. However it did not work for me, I had to be induced. But I was carrying high.

I jumped on the eliptical today for 20 min, the first time in 9 weeks. its worth a shot.

Hi. I empathise with how you must be feeling, I was 10 days overdue before I went into labour. I have read in a pregnancy book that a short, brisk walk can help, as well as nipple stimulation and s_x. Apparently the s____n contains prostaglandin, which is a hormone that softens the cervix ready for labour. Good Luck!
